2nd Sunday Baked Goods Fellowship
Coffee fellowship after the Sunday service started in 1997. It is a time for the Congregation to enjoy our community and meet our guests, sharing who we are, as well as informally coordinating church activities. For a change, we have begun a Baked Goods Sunday in lieu of bagels on the second Sunday of each month. Per Capita Apportionment: The Per Capita reminds us of the connection with the National Capital Presbytery, the Synod of the Mid Atlantic and the General Assembly and our support to the work of the governing bodies of the Presbyterian Church USA to do the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ in the world. Every church is apportioned a share of the operating expenses based on church membership. This year the apportionment per member is $35.35. Your offering envelopes include a special envelope designated for this purpose and payment is made to RPC. Please be generous in providing your share of this Per Capita Apportionment so that a balance due does not need to come from the general RPC budget.

Music Worship Leader (University Park, MD)
We are a Protestant church in University Park, MD seeking a gifted and passionate Christian worship leader to help us build and grow a new non-traditional worship service. Please contact us via email if you are interested in being a part of this exciting and Christ-based worship. This is a part time salaried position based on your gifts and experience. It is a startup position to develop an alternate worship service. Hours include every Sunday morning, plus rehearsal time and occasional off-site worship location times. The position is open until it is filled.
We are looking for a gregarious, outgoing person with a good sense of humor and the following attributes:
- Can lead innovative, Christian based music ministry
- Experience in starting a new service
- Strong Christian faith and committed to ministry
- Singer with proficiency with an instrument typically used in a worship band
- Ability to start new band and experience with these types of instruments
- Acquainted and passionate about diverse music styles
- Technology savvy with familiarity in stage, PowerPoint and sound technologies
- Strong leadership skills and ability to interact with staff and congregation
- Can relate well to young families and young adults
- Appreciates culturally-diverse faith communities
- Excited at trying new types of service
- Would participate in off-site worship services
Also desirable is the ability to do, or learn, alternate types of worship service (e.g. Taize). Patience and flexibility are important attributes. The person should be local.
