Council & Deacons
Our officers are members who are elected by the congregation on an annual basis. Our two boards are Council and Deacons. The Council is responsible for the spiritual leadership and oversight of the church. The Deacons minister to shut-ins and those in need. Officers are selected by the Nominating Ministry Team, but volunteers are always a delight! Training is offered to all officers. If you would like to become an officer, contact the Pastor.
Ministry Teams
We have ten standing Ministry Teams:
- Communications Team - Brian Young
- Stewardship & Finance Team - Bruce Beveridge, David Satterfield; plan for the use of money for investments and operations.
- MissionTeam - Bill Cammack, Jackee Clark; develops our local and non-local mission support and projects.
- Christian Education Team - Fran Kemper; assists our Christian Educator in the running of our Sunday School and special education projects
- Congregational Nurture/Fellowship Team - Fran Kemper, Harriet Sunderhauf; who plans celebrations and welcoming events
- Worship Team - John Prince, Irene Havas; they assist the pastor and musicians in the preparation of weekly worship and special services
- Congregational Nominating Team - Gail Randall; responsible for finding qualified, willing and knowledgeable candidates for the church boards
- Evangelism/Outreach Team - Jean Kline, Gail Randall; organizes efforts to reach out into the community and bring the non-churched into our fellowship
- Building & Property Ministry Team - Frank Randall; Manage all aspects of maintaining our building and surroundings
- Personnel Team - Jackee Clark and John Prince
To join a Ministry Team you do not have to be a member. You simply need a desire to serve and contact the Team Leader! Most of the Teams meet after worship on Sunday's. Council and Deacons meet monthly on Tuesday evenings.
Groups and Organizations
We also have organizations that manage other activities that enrich Riverdale Church such as the Church Library, Women's Board of Ingleside Presbyterian Home, Presbyterian Women, and Music at Riverdale.
