Vision Statement for Christian Education 

"The purpose of Christian Education at Riverdale Church is to help our young people to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ. This ministry will equip them with a strong Biblical foundation to apply Christian principles in their lives, encourage their involvement in our faith community, and empower them to serve others. Our Christian Education ministry will also provide adult Bible Study, fellowship, retreat opportunities, and services to the community, so that all people of our church continue to know, love, and serve in faith."

Update: RPC will cook and serve Palm Sunday dinner, April 1 to University Christian Ministry students at University of Maryland in the evening. Watch for updates on the 'Happenings' page!

Program Descriptions

We have an active Education Ministry that includes Wednesday afternoon programs for children in grades 1 and up and Sunday programs for children, youth and adults. Our youth participation in the Youth Connection with Youth Worship Sunday mornings, occasional joint activities with other Presbyterian youth, quarterly sleeponvers and retreats and a yearly mission trip.

School age - After School Club, Junior Church and Goly Play, Vacation Bible School

Older elementary and Junior High, Pre-Confirmation Class - Youth Worship, Summer Youth Connection, Service Club

High School, Confirmation Class - Youth Worship, Summer Youth Connection, Service Club, Summer Mission Trip, First Sundays

Young Adult - YA mission trip weekend, First Sundays

Families - Wednesday community nights, family camp Memorial Day Weekend

Adults - Men's and Women's retreats, Sunday and Wednesday Bible Studies, Monday Morning prayer breakfasts
