Cultural Discussion during fellowship time (after worship); a 5 to 10-minute discussion on a topic of cultural interest.  If you have a topic of interest, want to speak on one, or just want to try to understand one, please be in touch with Eric Akenji (This email address is being protected from spambots. August is our "Lemonade on the Lawn" tradition, served each Sunday following worship in the fellowship hall, to include the new opportunity for cultural discussion. Thank you to the deacons for hosting and providing the opportunity for all to fellowship together and to session for hosting the cultural discussion.  Light snack donations always welcome.  

 

PG Plaza Day Center - Homeless Ministry.  The Day Center is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 - 6:00 pm and provides a safe environment for the homeless in our area and a place to get out of the heat.  Services include some legal assistance, social services support, laundry, showers, and food.  Location - University Christian Church, 6800 Adelphi Rd. Monday Night Bible Study, with focus on the New Testament, resumes on September 11, 7:30 pm in Room #1.

 

Per Capita -  Each member of Riverdale Presbyterian Church is asked to assist with the Per Capita payment in support of worldwide mission of PCUSA.  The 2017 assessment is $38.75 per member regardless of age.  Please use this envelope to have your payment accurately posted to your giving account.    

 

 

Global Mission Update - CATE:  Riverdale continues its strong support to the Community Action for Technical Excellence (CATE) program in Bali, Cameroon. CATE provides internet, library, copy, and printing services as well as computer training with over 30,000 books in its library.  www.categroup.org

 

HELPING THE CHURCH:  Thank you to all who have helped with food and beverage donations as well as cleanup after fellowship. We still need help with children’s ministry and other areas, including making coffee and setups for fellowship hour (early arrival is necessary). We are more than a church – we are a church family. Bridge Club meets on Thursdays, 9:00 am - Room #2.

 

Armor On! Join us each Sunday for a quick prayer gathering at 9:15 am. Ephesians 6:16-17: 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

 

Handle with Prayer every Sunday after Worship - 11:30 in Room #5/7 for a bible verse reading, short discussion and prayer time.  All ages welcome.
